Findom Tips: Safety & Privacy

The first set of tips listed here come courtesy of an absolutely stunning lady who I personally admire for her beauty as well as her intelligence, business sense and completely natural style as a dominant.  She gave me permission to use, but did not want her name listed.  So not only do I get to share these tips with you, but I even got a message from her!  Thank you again Miss.

I will add some of my own over time below these as well.

For the Ladies

  • If you own a site / company within the industry, do not let if be known, as the owner information can be searched within easily and for free online, giving your name

  • Remove yourself from "BeenVerified" by going to BeenVerified.com/OptOut - the site is notorious for linking all your social media accounts with your actual accounts, address, etc.

  • Make sure your "Let Find By My Number" is unchecked on Snapchat.  Additionally, if you use other social media like Facebook or a personal Twitter, do not link your number to it.

  • Even with the highest levels of protection available on Instagram, someone with your number can still find you there.  Do NOT give your number out for ANY reason.

  • Don't post pictures of the VIEW from your house, if it is a distinct view (big city, recognizable buildings) and especially not the front of your house, particularly if you've just bought a new house.  Sites such as Zillow have a "Recently Sold" feature which makes it very easy for someone who knows even your general location to search the recently sold listings until recognizing your house and from there, having your address.

  • This is a rather oldie, but don't use the same pictures for your online work as in your personal life, due to Google's reverse search.  I've seen pictures that are throwbacks literally link to my old MYSPACE accounts (ikr) & therefore reveal your identity.

  • KIK Messenger: Even with all privacy settings in place, people with your real number can still find you on Kik.  If you don't want your family and friends knowing exactly what you do, choose to use initials in your Kik name versus your full SW name.

  • If you use Chatstar or SextPanther, make sure your voicemail does not say your name or number, or be sure to deselect the option to take calls when you know you won't be available.

For males

  • If you are a customer/sub/fan & find out about a site or company ownership yourself, do not tweet about it or post about it, as it can lead to the wrong person seeing it and then finding the SW's information.  We are human and just because something may BE out there, doesn't mean we WANT it out there.

  • If we used to do vanilla content or perform under a different name, but no long do or no longer promote it, do the decent thing and don't spread that information, as there is usually a reason we no longer promote it.  Additionally, many of us spend thousands per year paying to have this old content removed, and your continuing to "spread the word" just makes that process more difficult.

  • Goes without saying, and I've already stressed this, if you find a bit of info you know a SW would not want out there, please do your part to not spread it on social media.  There seems to be this very skewed way of thinking with some (not all, thank God) that because some of us make very good incomes in this line of work, that the thought of having things we don't want out there is us asking "too much".  While we ALL are aware when starting in this industry that that's always a risk, it doesn't mean we are unreasonable in wanting to take every measure possible to prevent that from happening.
